morgan_alexAlex graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.S. in Earth Science focusing in planetary science. After graduating, he worked at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California, where he researched the development of alluvial fans within Martian craters. His current research involves geomorphic analysis and computational modeling of planetary surfaces. Most of his work centers around ancient river systems and other fluvial features on Mars.

Alex is a predoctoral research fellow at the Center for Earth and Planetary Studies at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. He also serves as the student representative to the AGU Planetary Science Focus Group Executive Committee.
