PIRCH is dedicated to interdisciplinary investigation of the interplay between chemical, physical, and biological factors that control the fate and transport of contaminants in the subsurface. Research is supported in a variety of disciplines by teams of individuals from the Departments of Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Environmental Sciences.

    Janet Herman wins National Mentoring Award

    Dr. James Smith of PIRCH was selected as a 1997 recipient of the Alumni Teaching Award!!!


    Dr. Richard Smith of USGS visited the PIRCH seminar in November, 1997 to discuss his work in denitrification in ground water. Looks like he had a good time!













    Dr. Andrew Binley of the University of Lancaster visited the BRATS group to conduct tracer experiments in cores using electrical resistivity tomography
