The department vehicles are an important resource for this department.
They are used for both teaching and research related activities. The continued
long-term use and maintenance of these vehicles is dependent to a great extent
on the care they receive by the operators. The vehicles are located in the parking lot behind Cabell Hall. Click here for a map.
The following are the guidelines for using the vehicles:
-
No personal use.
-
No alcoholic beverages to be carried on the vehicles.
-
Vehicles should be left with at least half a tank of gas at all
times. The Parking and Transportation Motor Pool has a gas pump open
from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. You are required to purchase gas from
the Motor Pool because it is cheaper. The gas card may be checked out when
you pick up the keys for the vehicle. Please check the oil every time you fill
up with gas.
-
Keep the vehicles clean by picking up and throwing out your trash, etc.
-
Vehicle mileage columns on the check-out sheet should be filled out for
every trip you make. There will be a small pad of paper located in each vehicle.
This paper is for your convenience in writing down the odometer reading
when you are returning the vehicle so you may easily remember the numbers to
write on the check-out sheet.
-
Report any repairs or discrepancies noticed on the "comment" sheet located
near the check-out sheet.
-
Report any damage (i.e. mirrors pulled off, dents, ...) done to
the vehicle immediately to Neal Grandy. Failure to do so may result in loss
of vehicle privileges.
-
If you should have an accident, please follow the instructions on the
"accident" card located in the vehicle.
Thank you very much for your help and cooperation.
