I study the effects of seagrass restoration on nitrogen cycling in the coastal lagoons of the Virginia Coast Reserve LTER site.  My work is part of the 10 year old restoration effort spearheaded by UVA, The Nature Conservancy, and VIMS.  In addition to this work, I have collaborated with researchers at the University of Parma, Italy, the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA, and will soon begin collaborative Nitrogen Fixation work with researchers at the University of Mexico on the Baja Peninsula.  I intend to defend my dissertation in late 2010.
